RSLINX CLASSIC ICON NOT SHOWING DRIVERS
Once the EDS file is installed on the machine running RSLinx Classic, the device will be shown in the network overview correctly. Step 1) Launch RSLinx Classic and then open Configure Drivers by selecting the Cable icon on the toolbar, or by choosing Configure Drivers in the Communications menu. For other devices, where the upload function is not available, the correct EDS file can be downloaded from the Rockwell Product Compatability and Download Center on the Rockwell Automation website.
With certain devices, like controllers and communication modules, the EDS file can be uploaded directly from the device. Since RSLinx can still communicate with the device, the correct name is shown. You can also right-click on a collection. the two-way arrow icon will appear when you click that box.
Clicking in that box should initiate syncing, i.e. Since there is not an associated EDS file installed, RSLinx Classic considers the device to be unknown. If you have sync enabled, and if the collection is a static collection (smart collections cant be synced), there should be a faint square box in front of the collection name. Devices with a Yellow ? Do not have an associated EDS file installedÄevices that do not have an associated Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) file installed are marked with a yellow ?.
